We have a wealth of travel experience in our office. Our staff love to travel, and love telling others of their adventures. They are also full of sound professional advice, with a first rate knowledge of flights and a multitude of walking and active sightseeing holidays from all over the world - ranging from Beijing to Bluff Cove.

If, after studying our brochure or website and having spoken to a knowledgeable member of our reservations staff, you are still in search of “some inspiration”, then why not ask to be put through to one of these people who are passionate about our holidays.

Angus Russell

Spent 12 years pretty much continuously travelling the world as a mountain walking leader, ski tour leader, holiday rep and ship’s officer.  He is now Brand Manager for the Ramblers Countrywide Holidays UK programme.  Angus has a law degree – he loves the legal aspects of travel. He’s particularly keen on holidays to Austria or Germany and is unusual in his enthusiasm for walking surrounded by millions of trees in the north-eastern US.

Dave Kay

Started in the company as a leader in 1991 and spent 5 years leading pretty much all over the world. He still travels as much as possible, more often with his wife and daughter rather than groups these days. Recent trips include Russia, Peru, Ecuador, Central America and Mexico. Dave is contracts manager for Latin America, Nepal, Italy and Eastern Europe. He is also pretty well acquainted with our North American, Australia and New Zealand programmes.

Michael Hatch

Worked as a walking leader and tour manager for 20 years, mostly in Europe. Now home from the hills, his idea of heaven is an alpine pasture in early July, sunrise at 10,000ft above the clouds, or a Greek beachside taverna. He also feels at home in many European cities, from Seville to Istanbul. Michael is responsible for our hutting holidays and also looks after the shore adventures on our cruise itineraries. Working in the Leader’s Department and is also responsible for leader training and enjoys finding the perfect holiday for clients new to the company.

Andrew Gilkison

Joined the company in 1995 and was based in the planning department, working on new ventures as well as leading our groups throughout various parts of the world.  After 7 years as Product Manager, Andrew recently moved to his new role as Sales Manager, with the added responsibility for Private Group Holidays. He has a great passion for travel; Greece, India, Israel, Jordan, Barbados, St Lucia, the Balearic islands and Portugal are just some of his favourites.  Should you be interested in organising a Private Group holiday for your local walking club or with your friends, Andrew would love to hear from you.
