Dear Sir/Madam,
I just wanted to comment that this was my first holiday with Ramblers Worldwide and that I thoroughly enjoyed the break. The accomodation was very comfortable and the staff were helpful and hardworking. The food was delicious. Jim, our leader did an excellent job taking us on interesting walks. I would certainly book another holiday with Ramblers Worldwide Holidays after this experience.
I returned home yesterday after your 12 day Ancient Sicily Tour. In a previous year, I also went on your Lipari and Francavilla Tour,which fitted in very well, covering the northwest corner of this Island, steeped all over in unique historical sites. Together these two trips mean that I have been able to see most of Sicily.
I would like to say that I found the Ancient Sicily Tour one of the most worthwhile tours which I have ever been on. I am not likely to forget it. Every day brought new cultural wonders.
To successfully organise a tour with four centres must be extremely difficult and demanding. The leader, Peter Watts, throughout the tour was unfailingly helpful in every way. I think that he did much more than any leader could be expected to undertake. I wish to express my appreciation of his considerable efforts, and I think you should know.
I consider that the Ancient Sicily Tour is greatly superior in its itinerary than that offered by any other tour operator. I studied several others. The inclusion of walking and public transport also adds a local flavour which they lack.
Once again I have returned from a Ramblers Holiday convinced that it cannot be equalled by any competitor. I believe this is due mostly to the leaders, who show that they have their interest in walking and people as their focus for the holiday.
Madeira proved to be an outstanding walking venue, which was even better due to the Flower Festival being held during our stay.
Peter Watts was a knowledgeable leader, who was always open to any ideas from the group.
I always find that the other members of the group are like minded, which gives good conversation at the evening meals. The restaurants we used proved to have good food and their locations were the correct distance from the hotel, giving us all a relaxing short walk each evening.
I have just received my new brochure and will be scanning the pages for future ideas, as it is my intention to always have a Ramblers Worldwide Holiday once a year
My thanks and congratulations to everone at Ramblers worldwide Holidays for organising this fantasic visit to Jerusalem. Everything was perfect and special thanks to leader Nigel Gratton for co-ordinating all our visits with the local guide. Both gentlemen were excellent combining their individual leadership roles to provide the party with such an interesting and worthwhile experience.
The Gloria hotel was very comfortable, the manager caring and efficient and the cuisine provided super.
I have had many holidays with Ramblers and always been very satisfied but this particular week was without doubt the best holiday I have ever had with Ramblers Worldwide Holidays. I would just like to say how much I enjoyed my first Ramblers Worldwide Holiday at Lake Iseo at the end of May. I went on my own but always felt part of the group. The hotel was comfortable, the walking moderate and just what I had wanted. The leader was excellent and very experienced and even the weather was on our side. Sale Marasino was a really good base as not too commercialised. I look forward to choosing another holiday later in the year and to joining my local walking group.
Thanks for a brilliant holiday. Enjoyed every minute. Even the weather was kind to us although a little hot at times. Will definitely recommend you to friends. Looking forward to my holiday to Nepal with Ramblers Worldwide in November.
I have just returned from a week in El Rompido, your 5 star Ramblers Holiday. It was definitely a holiday I would recommend. It is as you say in the brochure easy walking in a lovely part of Spain with few tourists. The hotel was superb, with 5 star luxury on our return from walking/sightseeing. The day in the Donana National Park riding in a jeep over the sand dunes was a day to remember. Our guide Sara Dale was excellent, nothing was too much trouble for her and she was obviously a very experienced guide. It was a very good mix of people. All in all a holiday to be repeated sometime.!
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed my recent holiday in Tuscany at Hotel Giardini.
Having lost my husband a few months ago, and despite kind friends offering to take me on holiday, I wanted to try something solo. Not being of the generation who take solo travelling for granted, like my daughter, I was naturally nervous about taking off somewhere. Ramblers Worldwide was recommended to me, and I plucked up the courage to try just one week, to ‘see how it went’. As a family we have shunned package holidays, preferring to be independent, and so I was worried that, although I needed the support and guidance of a leader, I would be spoon fed and herded around like a child. Not a bit of it. Our leader Jan Lancaster, had exactly the right mix of humour, and determination to keep adults who had left their brains at home, in order. She was happy for people to dip in and out of activities, and gave information to those who wanted to go off on their own for a day. As for me, I loved the walking, the cooking and the easy camaraderie. I paid the (small) supplement for a single room, expecting to find a shoebox in a garret, but instead, a beautiful room with balcony.
The holiday has given me enormous confidence to do something perhaps more challenging with Ramblers Worldwide, and I have recommended you to my other friends, both single and partnered.
Your brochure is now avidly pored over and the only problem is deciding which one of the tantalising trips I want to try next!
I have just returned from Austria and had a marvellous holiday. The sun shone every day and the walks and views were spectacular. The flowers were out
too. You have an excellent hotel with fabulous food and facilities. I was doubtful about the difficulty of the walks but with well graded paths and expert guidance I managed very well. Malcolm Little knows how to encourage you to meet the challenges and his good nature makes for a happy
group.

Just wanted to let you know what a wonderful 4 night holiday I have just had with Ramblers Countrywide in the White Hart Hotel, Mortonhampstead.
The hotel was excellent and extremely comfortable, and we were very well looked after by the very friendly staff.
However I would like to express my thanks to Julian Wilkes for making the walks so interesting and enjoyable. His knowledge of the local history of the area gave us an insight into where we were walking. The walks were well thought out and personally I thought were exactly the grade quoted. He was patient, kind and helpful. A great asset to Ramblers Countrwide.

' Outstanding! there's no other word for it! Barry our guide and bird expert extraordinaire couldn't have been more helpful or enthusiastic no matter what ones level of birding knowledge. We explored a wonderful diversity of landscapes in stunning regions of SW Spain and were truly privileged to see such a wide range of birds in fact the total was 150+. Some of which were amongst the rarest birds in Europe
- 40 plus Great Bustard, Eagle Owl, Spanish Imperial Eagle and on one occasion almost 200 vultures on and around the carcase of a cow a sight more reminiscent of the plains of Africa! than Europe. In addition to this a good list of birds never seen before that Barry identified by their call/song even before we saw them! All of this could not have taken place so smoothly without serious planning and great attention to detail. I have watched wildlife all over the world for many years and know only too well that it is not just about basic
logistics but close and up to date liaison with local people and in depth study of the creatures you hope to see plus when is the best time to se them. Normally we travel alone but we have to say that thanks to Barry and his support team at Ramblers we experienced a truly diverse introduction to a wonderful non-touristic region of Spain making the most of every moment yet in a relaxing way. Having someone take on the worries and anxieties that can often detract from
ones enjoyment of a holiday was sheer luxury. This holiday was tremendous value for money. Please pass on our sincere thanks to Barry for putting his heart and soul into making it special for all of us he is a credit to the reputation of Ramblers Worldwide Holidays.'

Thank you for another wonderful holiday. The scenery was every bit as glorious as the holiday information suggested.
Our local guide, Dave, set a meticulously reliable pace, whose speed was comfortably within the range I would expect for this grade He was punctilious in keeping in touch with the back of the party in places where the route wound round cliffs or through forest. He also arranged some memorable meals for us........
......My best of all the memorable days would probably be climbing over the shoulder of Tahtili Dal. We had the good fortune to find the path clear of snow and conditions underfoot on the way down very good after a period of dry weather. We were also at the right time to find the wild peonies near the top of the walk in full and colourful bud. The wild tortoises were another unexpected delight, as was meeting Dingo the not-yet-fully-grown (“look at his feet” said Dave) Kangol sheepdog, who greeted Dave like a brother.
Again, thank you Ramblers. I look forward to the next one.

On our arrival at Hassness in the torrential rain, we had a warm welcome from Paula along with tea and cake in the lounge where we met our fellow walking companions. We set off the next day in wall to wall sunshine led by our leader Chris who guided us safely from Ulverston to Carlisle, not always in the best conditions. We had an excellent week's walking along with entertainment from Chris and not forgetting Gill. Thank you Chris for being our leader.
Paula and Mickey cooked us excellent meals and plenty of it too, they looked after us very well in homely Hassness.
We would recommend this walk to everyone capable of a D+ grade.

"What a superb tour was provided through the 'African Journey' that we have just completed. The entire trip was especially memorable with so many varied localities visited and opportunities to see many wild animals in their natural environment. The lodge accommodation was always serviced by friendly staff and most of the meals were quite exceptional-especially when considering that we were frequently in remote areas.
Apart from the organisation by Ramblers Worldwide Holidays, much of the credit for such a tour must go to Annette - our leader - who patiently dealt with the varied issues that arose during the lengthy tour of four weeks. The two guides, were particularly knowledgeable. They drove long distances with care - frequently along rough unmade roads, provided catering during the day, were attentive and always prepared to answer questions raised. Appreciation therefore to both Todd and Charlotte - the guides - for their undoubted expertise.
We have just looked through our photographs and find it remarkable that we visited so many places and saw such exceptional sites. This must be the best Ramblers Worldwide Holiday we have taken!"

“I had a wonderful holiday in India, seeing the most interesting and amazing places whilst enjoying good food and accommodation.
We were looked after very well by Julia and the local agents before and after the events in Mumbai. It was very reassuring to have such a speedy response to those events and to know when and from where we were going home and though a long journey to Delhi it was good to visit Jaipur and Pushkar.

“We returned from the EXPERIENCE THE REAL FLORIDA holiday recently; this was our first holiday with your company and I feel you might like to know that we really enjoyed ourselves.
From the time we booked the holiday, we had no problem, especially the discounted shuttles to and from Manchester. We enjoyed the company of the tour leader and friendly leadership very much. The main memory that will stay with us is the great variety of this holiday; from Kennedy Space Centre, through state parks and nature reserves, to the last days at Key West. Obviously we enjoyed some days more than others, but with quite a few other people involved, this was bound to happen and we did enjoy the flexibility of 'opting out' by not paying for these optional visits if we did not wish to. We also had an excellent tour driver from Lake Limos,
We have been on organised group holidays before so can make some comparisons. All I can say this holiday provided excellent value for money, delivered what we had hoped, and we will certainly make the effort to travel with your Company again”.

As promised during our visit to the Destination Show at Earls Court, today 05 Feb 2009.
We found the cruise to be a wonderful experience, all our anxieties about the different currencies, life on board ship and the itineraries whilst ashore proved groundless. We had a wonderful leader, Andrew Wood, who gave a lot of guidance, but left us alone when it was necessary. The cost of the cruise included all excursions, including bus and train fares as appropriate and payment for the local guides. On the first day we also had delicious gateau and coffee or tea with tablecloths and cloth napkins, in the afternoon, all included. Every one of the local guides were first class. By chance, there were people on the boat that we knew and discovered that their costs were very much higher than ours. They had had to pay for car parking at Dover, which we didn't. Their excursions were not as good, particularly in St Petersburg itself. Another bonus, our Russian visas were paid for by Ramblers Worldwide Holidays, theirs they had to pay for.
The organisation by Ramblers Worldwide Holidays was absolutely first class. We have recommended Ramblers Worldwide Holidays and Cruise and Walk to many of our friends and fellow ramblers - some have booked.
This was our first trip with Ramblers Worldwide Holidays and we had a wonderful time and would certainly recommend Cruise and Walk.
We look forward to the next opportunity to repeat the experience.
