Here's an overseas walking holiday on Britain's doorstep! Measuring just twelve miles by nine, Jersey's the largest of the Channel Islands and provides an ideal location for a week of island walking. With an abundance of beautiful wildlife and flowers, fascinating small towns, villages and historic monuments, almost all completely unspoiled, Jersey's calm island life provides a relaxing backdrop for our daily walks.
Many of its moss-covered, old stone walls have been constructed from some of the oldest rocks in the British Isles. The Normandy coast, only 15 miles away, is visible on a clear day, and Jersey itself has a rich mixture of English and French culture and atmosphere.
We explore the island's network of footpaths and quiet country lanes and take advantage of the local transport to visit several of Jersey's places of interest including museums, megalithic monuments, fortifications and tropical gardens. From the ancient to very recent, reminders of the island's history await discovery. Everywhere you go, the sparkling English Channel is never far away and the island's beaches, coves, rugged rock formations and spectacular heather-clad cliffs are a delight to wander around.
A unique part of the British Isles and a lovely island, a world away from the stresses of life on the mainland, makes this is a superb holiday location.
