When you book your Ramblers Countrywide Walking Holiday, you will receive a Holiday Information Sheet from us. This sheet acts as a guide for pre-holiday preparation and is designed to help you get the most out of your walking and hiking holiday. Meanwhile, here’s a round up of what you may like to think about before your holiday
Holiday Health
You may need to take details of any medical conditions or allergies that your holiday Leader may need to know about. Also make sure you have taken out the appropriate travel insurance in plenty of time before your departure.

Flight arrangements
If you are travelling to your UK destination by air, ensure you have all the right airport information and have made provision for airport parking or taxis so there’s no ‘last minute dash’ on your departure day.

Passports and visas
UK citizens and citizens of other EU member states - should your walking holiday arrangements involve travel by air, a valid passport or National Identity Card is required as an acceptable means of identification.
Non-EU Citizens – holders of non-EU passports are likely to be subject to varying visa requirements to enter the UK and you should check either with your travel agent or with the British Embassy or Consulate to ascertain any visa requirements and the time needed to obtain them. You may also need travel insurance to cover the costs of any medical treatment. We cannot accept responsibility for clients in difficulties because they do not have the correct travel documents with them.
Responsible Tourism and your walking holiday
Since our earliest holidays over 60 years ago, we have been committed to responsible tourism in all our destinations.
We can all be proactive when it comes to minimising our impact on the environment when we travel. Find out about how you can contribute before and during your holiday, from supporting organisations like Climate Care, to taking care to keep your destination beautiful whilst you are there.
By holidaying with us, you are also directly supporting our Charitable Trust, which has been specifically set up to support environmental conservation projects in the UK. These include the maintenance of the UK paths network and supporting charities that provide outdoor experiences for the disadvantaged, the disabled and inner city children.
